REcharge Labs Giving Away Windmill, Solar Kits

Teachers who are interested in bringing renewable energy engineering to their classrooms can enter a new contest to win free tools. REcharge Labs, a provider of hands-on learning resources centered around renewable energy, is giving away STEM class kits to 20 teachers who complete an application between Sept. 15–30.

The giveaway includes:

  • 10 MacGyver Windmill Class Packs – activity kits for 15 to 45 students in grades 6–12 to build a functioning windmills out of household items, like index cards and plastic cups; and
  • 10 Solar Town Class Packs – activity kits for 5 to 15 students in grades 4–12 that entails building five small solar powered houses, teaching them basic circuitry and energy consumption concepts in the process.  

Teachers can enter the giveaway by filling out an application online.

“While our Online Challenge is free year-round for teams to enter, this giveaway will equip teachers with the tools to encourage students to get active in hands-on science,” said Asia Ward, co-director of REcharge Labs, in a statement.
