Edmentum, NWEA Partner on Personalized Learning for High School Students

Edmentum and the Northwest Evaluation Association (NWEA) are extending an existing partnership to offer a personalized learning tool to high school students.

Previously, the two organizations launched a partnership in December 2012 to integrate NWEA's Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) assessments with Edmentum's Study Island to create individualized learning paths for students in grades 3 through 8. That integration will now be available to students through grade 12.

"Educators using both Study Island and MAP growth assessments can easily pinpoint academic strengths and weaknesses through their MAP test results and then automatically target those areas with Study Island's standards-based content," according to0 a news release. "Each student will receive a tailored learning path within Study Island based on his or her individual MAP Rasch Unit (RIT) scores."

"I'm pleased to announce that our partnership with NWEA is expanding to reach our high school users," said Hugh O'Donovan, Edmentum product manager, in a prepared statement. "Study Island NWEA MAP Link users in grades 2 through high school will benefit from having a comprehensive solution targeted on standards development and practice in reading and math, focusing on each learner's key areas of need."
