In this webcast, you will hear directly from John Krull, Information Technology Officer at Oakland Unified School District (OUSD) which is California’s most improved urban school district for the past eight years. John will discuss how the district decided to go Google with Google Apps for Education accounts for all 48,000 K-12 students and be able to afford more than 8,000 Chromebooks for grades 3 through 12. The District is committed to providing a superior education for all its students, to build their passion for learning, and prepare them for their future careers.

OUSD selected Dell Chromebook 11 laptops to “give all students access to a reliable wireless device” and to “meet the state requirements for online assessment.” With Chromebooks, OUSD’s IT staff can easily deploy and centrally manage the devices from Google’s web-based Admin Console while empowering teachers to personalize learning for their students in the classroom. And with Google Apps, students can easily access their work and files from anywhere, on any device, at any time. Moreover, Chromebooks can easily be turned into secure devices for testing and are certified to meet the system requirements for the Smarter Balanced (SBAC) online assessments. OUSD successfully completed the SBAC field tests with Chromebooks earlier this month.
