At this moment campus information technology organizations are hard at work. Technology teams in colleges, universities and K-12 schools are preparing their facilities for the eventual return of students, faculty and staff.
And it won't go back to the way it was before. How could it? Now that huge numbers of faculty and teachers have been introduced to the advantages of tech-enabled instruction, education will never be the same. Demands on the digital infrastructure for delivering lectures, labs and lessons are expected to grow, not subside. And wireless communication forms the foundation of whatever is to come.
To understand the state of that infrastructure, Campus Technology and Panduit reached out to IT leaders and staff in an online survey during March and April 2020, to get a sense of what they've been deploying, what they hope to deploy in the future, where their priorities lie and what their biggest hurdles are.
