Iowa Districts Opt for Infinite SIS

##AUTHORSPLIT##<--->

01.31.2007—Four school districts in Iowa have selected Infinite Campus as the supplier of their student education process management systems. These include Burlington Community School District, Johnston Community School District, Oskaloosa Community School District, and Southeast Polk Community School District. Implementations were handled in conjunction with ViPS of Marion, IA, which is providing support as well.

Infinite Campus manages student data through a centralized database that provides real-time nformation to teachers, administrators and counselors. Authorized users can view changed data immediately without waiting for uploads or data synchronization. Parents and students can access assignment, grade, and attendance data through a Web interface.

"The Burlington Community School District system could not cope with the huge data management requirements brought about by the 2002 No Child Left Behind act," said Jane Evans, assistant superintendent of schools. "We wanted a student information system with the power to serve our needs well into the future. We analyzed several systems and chose Infinite Campus because it was web-based, full-featured and user friendly. "Infinite Campus has a superior track record with districts our size and larger in the state of Iowa," continues Evans. "They will be able to respond to the ever-changing data requirements of the Iowa Department of Education."

Infinite Campus said it expects the systems to go live in these districts by July 1. The four districts total more than 17,000 students.

Burlington Community School District serves 4,300 students in five elementary schools, two middle schools, one high school, and one alternative school.

Johnston Community School District enrolls more than 5,400 students in four elementary schools, two middle schools, a senior high, and an alternative school. Another elementary school will be added in fall 2007.

Oskaloosa Community School District comprises one elementary school, one middle school, and one high school that serves 2,465 students.

And Southeast Polk Community School District includes a central campus with administrative buildings and a high school and middle school. It also includes seven elementary schools. The district serves more than 5,000 students.
