##AUTHORSPLIT##<--->

Lexia Learning Systems has released Lexia Reading v5, an update to the company's suite of reading tools for pre-kindergarten through grade 12. Lexia said the new version was beta tested by more than 4,500 students at "hundreds of teachers and administrators" at 10 elementary, middle, and high schools.

Lexia Reading incorporates software for three reading levels--Early Reading, Primary Reading, and Strategies for Older Students--and also incorporates assessments and tracking features. The latest version also adds several new features:

  • An option for delivery over the Web, allowing students to access the tools at home;
  • New and expanded management tools;
  • New reporting features, including district reporting; and
  • Hosted and non-hosted options.

The hosted, Web-delivered version of Lexia Reading v5 is available now for Mac OS X and Windows. The network version will be available beginning in 2008. Pricing varies by volume of simultaneous user licenses. For 25 simultaneous user licenses, Lexia Reading v5 runs $200 per license.
