MPISD Deploys Data, Portal Systems
##AUTHORSPLIT##<--->
Mount Pleasant Independent School District in Texas is integrating student data and adding new tools to meet state reporting requirements with the help of Mizuni, which is providing the district with its Motiv suite. The district is also using Motiv to set up a portal to make student information available to parents and administrators and to help "inform instruction" with the use of Motiv assessment tools.
Mizuni's Motiv suite includes data warehousing, reporting, and Web portal technologies. The district will be using the suite to bring together data presently housed in disparate systems. According to the district, these systems are no longer feasible owing to a spurt in the student population. In addition to providing information management, the system will also automate the collection of data generated through assessments to "inform instruction and improve student achievement earlier in the year," according to Bruce Gearing, assistant superintendent of instruction at MPISD.
Mount Pleasant Independent School District, located in Mount Pleasant, TX, comprises four elementary schools, one middle school, one junior high, and one high school. It serves about 5,400 students.
