FETC Brief: GenevaLogic Updates Classroom Management Software

##AUTHORSPLIT##<--->

GenevaLogic unveiled a new version of its Vision classroom management suite at the FETC 2008 conference in Orlando, FL. The 6.7 update includes several enhancements in the areas of installation and configuration.

Vision is a suite of tools designed to provide control over devices in the classroom or in computer labs. It includes functions for monitoring computer activity, sharing screens among multiple users, locking students out of their computers, and performing other management tasks.

Among the improvements is a new Classroom Installer designed for easier setup and configuration. It also incorporates installers for the Surf-Lock and App-Control plugins. Surf-Lock is a module that provides control over students' Web browsing activities. App-Control is a tool that combines application management, application sharing, and remote application launching functionality. Properties for these components have also been consolidated into a single preferences pane. User options have also been simplified in the new release.

Vision and its associated components are available in several configurations. The Vision Class Kit, which includes Vision, Surf-Lock, and App-Control, sells for $999 per classroom or lab. The Vision School Kit site license starts at $3,999. The individual applications are also available separately.
