NetRTI Monitors Achievement for Struggling Learners

Education technology developer Netchemia earlier this month released netRTI, a response to intervention program targeted at struggling learners and special needs students.

NetRTI is a district-wide system designed to gauge the effectiveness of interventions, track student data, aggregate data from assessments, and provide reports to administrators and teachers for measuring programs and communicating with students and parents about students' progress.

Netchemia said that prior to its general release, it had been tested fairly extensively in live settings and was used in the Liberty School District in Missouri and all 17 school districts in the High Plains Educational Cooperative of Kansas.

Marcy Fierstein, assistant director of the High Plains Educational Cooperative, said, "I truly believe netRTI is the future of individual learning plans. Everyone always wants proof and documentation, this system is the answer to those demands."

The system is not tied to any particular intervention or assessment system but can be used with the tools already available to districts. Data from these tools are recorded in the netRTI system, which then provides the framework for tracking and monitoring student intervention information. It can track individual students, groups, and entire district populations, and it provides reports and data graphs online.
