Crossroads Debuts Backup Encryption Module
##AUTHORSPLIT##<--->
Information security provider Crossroads Systems this week released a new encryption module for its Crossroads Virtual TapeServer. The module, SecureVTS, is an integrated solution that provides security for backed-up data for compliance and business continuity.
Crossroads Virtual TapeServer is an appliance-based backup and restore/disaster recovery system designed to emulate tape backups while actually using disk-based storage media, offering compatibility with a variety of backup management applications. It includes a server, disk storage, and virtual tape software.
SecureVTS encrypts and decrypts data written from the host server using 256-bit AES symmetric key encryption. It uses existing hardware and includes an integrated Key Server and Key Database. It includes access controls and support for user-level privileges.
