LanSchool 7.1 Adds Blocking and Monitoring Features

LanSchool Technologies this week released LanSchool 7.1, an update to the company's classroom monitoring and control software suite designed to limit what students can do with their computers. Version 7.1 adds new device blocking and monitoring capabilities and also includes performance and usability enhancements.
The new version adds the ability to block student USB devices without affecting other USB devices. It also offers application and keystroke monitoring to provide access to the history of application usage and keystrokes. Other enhancements include:
- A new thumbnail view that allows teachers to customize icon arrangement;
- A new small thumbnail view that supports up to 80 screens on a 15-inch display;
- Performance and reliability improvements, including wireless reliability; and
- Improvements to installation, voting, student questions, and Internet usage limiting.
LanSchool 7.1 is available now as a free upgrade for those who purchased version 7.0 within the last year. Classroom pricing runs $299 to $599. Volume discounts and district site licenses are also available, as are competitive upgrades. Further information can be found here.
