New Jersey Districts Deploy Web-Based Student Information System

##AUTHORSPLIT##<--->

Seven school districts in New Jersey will be deploying a fully online student information system to track student records. The districts are adopting a hosted solution from OnCourse Systems for Education called OnCourse SIS.

OnCourse SIS is an online administrative system designed to automate record keeping,
reporting, and other operational processes for schol districts. It integrates with OnCourse's other administrative apps--including Lesson Planner, Grade Book, Student Stats, and Discipline System--and includes attendance, enrollment, and health modules. The system is built on Oracle and Crystal Reports.

"Each state has specific regulations it must address and New Jersey school districts are now challenged with following the strict reporting requirements of NJSMART," explained Georgia Gallicchio, chief marketing officer at OnCourse Systems, in a statement released at the NECC 2008 conference in San Antonio, TX this week. "Our SIS solution has been designed to address NJSMART requirements, providing users with the ability to instantly generate state-required reports that traditionally have been extremely time-consuming for teachers and administrators to compile. We pre-populate and maintain all state reporting codes and changes for our customers, dramatically reducing their set up and maintenance time."

The seven New Jersey districts that have signed on to use the SIS include Avalon Independent School District, Brookfield Schools, Elk Township School District, Lawrence Township Public Schools, Pohatcong School District, Salem City School District, and Wenonah School District.
