Virginia Contracts with Infinite Campus for Student Information System

The Virginia Department of Education and the Virginia Information Technologies Agency (a program designed to help consolidate Virginia's IT infrastructure) have signed on with Infinite Campus to allow districts in the state to purchase the Infinite Campus student information system (SIS) without the need for an RFP.
Infinite Campus manages student data through a centralized database that provides real-time information to teachers, administrators, and counselors. It allows parents and students to access assignments, grades, and attendance data through a Web interface. And it provides data warehousing, reporting, and data management for a range of K-12 information, including assessments, curricula, and special education.
Through the new deal, according to Infinite Campus, "Districts can purchase against the Commonwealth's contract. The contract includes the student information system (SIS), implementation, data conversion, training and ongoing support."
