Educational software developer Knowledge Adventure recently announced that it will be launching its Math Blaster software on the Nintendo DS platform in partnership with Majesco Entertainment Co. This will be the first title Knowledge Adventure will release for DS, but not the last, according to the company.

Knowledge Adventure develops and distributes educational software titles for school and home use focused on children aged 3 to 10, including he JumpStart series, Reading Blaster, Math Blaster, and others. But the move to the DS platform, according to Knowledge Adventure, signals a departure into children's entertainment, part of the company's overall strategic plan, which includes, among other things, expanding the JumpStart series onto the DS platform.

"This partnership [with Majesco] is part of our strategic vision to transition the company from educational software to a multi-faceted kid's entertainment company," said Knowledge Adventure President and CEO David Lord in a statement released Thursday. "Expanding our product footprint into this new category will enable us to create a market for future products--including our leading JumpStart brand--on console and handheld platforms and capitalize on the increasing popularity of these platforms."

The first Math Blaster title for DS, Math Blaster in the Prime Adventure, is expected to be released or the holiday season. Further information can be found here.
