Learn360 Adds Classroom Podcasting, Blogs, Quiz Creation Tools

AIM Education has debuted an enhanced version of its Learn360, an online digital media streaming service designed specifically for schools. The new version was introduced at the FETC 2009 conference in Orlando, FL this week.
Learn360 is a streaming media and social networking service targeted specifically toward K-12 education. The service provides images and streaming video and audio from a wide range of media publishers, including premium content from National Geographic and PBS. In addition to providing third-party content, Learn360 also allows educators (and students) to upload their own media, which can then be accessed through the system.
Some of the new features in the updated version include:
- New assignment and quiz creation capabilities;
- An expanded range of formats supported for user uploading and sharing;
- A classroom blog creation tool;
- An expanded library of pre-generated activities and teacher guides;
- A new calendar; and
- Support for uploading podcasts.
Other features include online professional development resources; a Help Center with Flash-based tutorials; technical support resources, including e-mail help; video previews; classroom activities; and alignment to state standards through a partnership with Academic Benchmarks.
Learn360 is available now. Pricing varies and can be set at district or school levels through annual subscriptions. Further information can be found here.
