Lenovo To Delve into the Effectiveness of Technology in Education

Lenovo this week reported that it's launching a new Global Education Research program, which will aim to "analyze and measure the impact of technology on students' educational experiences."
According to the company, the research will attempt to develop a complete view of the impact of technology on the learning environment and to use research to help develop best practices for the use of technology in K-12 and higher education.
The initiative began this week as a part of the 2009 Think Tank conference at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Participants in the program so far include:
According to Lenovo, "The Lenovo Global Education Research program will conduct both quantitative and qualitative studies using an updated set of criteria defined by the consortium and that are relevant to the skills students must possess to be successful in today's society. Each Center will be led by members of the Center as well as an esteemed body of academic advisors and Lenovo education practice experts."
Lenovo is developing the program in conjunction with Intel and Microsoft.
