Hall Brings IP-Based Control to Switch-Cat A/V Systems

Hall Research Technologies has released a new module for its Switch-Cat A/V Systems to add IP-based monitoring and control.

Switch-Cat A/V Systems are all in one A/V systems that combine switching, projector control, audio amplification, and video transmission over UTP capabilities into a single unit. It's designed specifically for classroom and conference room use.

With the new module, the VSA-31-IP, the Switch-Cat VSA-31 and VSA-31-SP systems gain IP-based monitoring and control for connected devices. The port-powered unit provides LAN connectivity via RJ-45. It also includes a stand-alone app called GUI Software, which provides a number of features for owrking with networked devices, including:

  • Control over various parameters of networked devices, such as volume and source selection;
  • Device property display;
  • Device location;
  • Status, such as remaining lamp life or power status;
  • E-mail notifications upon device removal (for theft protection);
  • Scheduling of events;
  • Broadcasting events, such as turning all systems on or off.
