Calypso Systems has opened its third-annual Be Heard School Grants program, which awards classroom audio systems to K-12 schools.
The Be Heard School Grant program will award four K-12 institutions with classroom voice amplification equipment--Calypso's SoundPost portable voice amplification packages.
The systems, designed specifically for K-12 classroom use, incorporate a post-style speaker with integrated wireless and wired receiver, 32 watt amplifier, wireless mic, pendant mic, belt pack, and charger and power supply. They include wireless (IR) projector control capabilities and offer two stereo audio inputs with volume control (via hardware dial or software app) for connecting with an iPod or other common media players. The systems are designed to enhance learning for students, particularly students with learning disabilities.
A grand prize will offer 30 of the systems to a single school. The three grade-level awards will provide three systems each to three different schools.
Entries will be accepted now through May 20. All K-12 schools in the United States are eligible, and the awards are not based on needs. WInners will be announced in June. Further information and an online application can be found here.
