eChalk Brings Instructional Management Tool to Android, iOS

Ed tech developer eChalk has launched new instructional management apps for Android and iOS devices. The free apps provide access to certain features of eChalk's K-12 suite.

eChalk provides a suite of mobile and Web-based communications, learning, management, administrative, and collaboration tools, along with standards-aligned digital materials. The company's core platform includes tools for building school sites and class portals; building electronic commerce functions into those sites; storing files and grades; communicating and collaborating between teachers, parents, students, and administrators; sending out emergency notifications and other mass announcements; planning lessons; conducting online classes; collecting homework; and providing professional training resources.

The mobile apps provide a limited set of eChalk functionality, including:

  • Announcements and alerts;
  • Access to instructional resources and support materials;
  • A teacher dashboard;
  • A student dashboard for accessing assignments and viewing messages;
  • A parent dashboard for viewing their children's information; and
  • Access to technical support.

eChalk's mobile apps are available free for current users. To download the apps, users must log in to their eChalk accounts. Additional details are available on eChalk's site.

In separate news, eChalk reported that it's working to integrate its software with Google Apps for Edu and Microsoft Live@edu. That integration is expected to be completed by the end of the year.
