StrataLogica To Gain Smart Notebook Integration
StrataLogica, a Web-based educational geography tool, is gaining integration with Smart Technologies' Smart Notebook software for interactive whiteboards. The announcement was made at the FETC 2012 National Conference, taking place this week in Orlando, FL.
StrataLogica is a Web-based geography tool built on the Google Earth API. Designed for use in schools, it provides a multi-layered, interactive 3D view of the world and incorporates a range of collaborative learning tools, multimedia related to locations on the map (multimedia placemarks), an integrated e-book atlas, interactive marking tools, and presentation creation capabilities.
Smart Notebook is a standards-aligned collaborative learning tool that operates in conjunction with Smart interactive whiteboards. It provides access to curricular resources--Flash objects, videos, images, and other elements--and tools like an object animator, shape recognizer, and recorder.
According to StrataLogica developer Herff Jones | Nystrom, Smart Notebook 11 will add features that allow StrataLogica users to view saved presentations and projects and launch into StrataLogica from within the Notebook application. When used in conjunction with a Smart Board 800-series interactive whiteboard, students and teachers will be able to interact with StrataLogica's geographical 3D graphics and mark out routes and add labels to locations.
Herff Jones | Nystrom is exhibiting in booth 1223 at the FETC conference this week, with demonstrations of the software used in conjunction with Smart Boards. The integration is expected to be made publicly available this spring. Additional details can be found on the company's site.
