Lenovo To Award $50,000 Tech Makeover

Lenovo will award one K-8 school a technology makeover valued at $50,000 in its 2012 Dream To Do contest.

The contest calls on students in kindergarten through eighth grade to submit drawings that illustrate what they want to do when they grow up, along with a short sentence explaining what he or she wants to do. ("I want to be an education technology journalist," for example.)

For the $50,000 Lenovo equipment grand prize, submissions will undergo judging, which will account for 50 percent of their score; public voting will account for 40 percent; and the number of entries received from the school will account for 10 percent of the final score.

In addition, a one sweepstakes award will be given to an individual randomly selected from all entrants. The winner will receive a Lenovo ThinkPad X130e laptop.

The contest is open to all qualifying schools (not home schools) in the United States and runs until April 16. Both grand prize and sweepstakes winners will be announced April 23. Rules and additional details can be found on the Dream To Do site.
