Robotics Competition for Elementary Students Opens

Wonder Workshop is launching a new robotics competition for students aged 6 to 11.

The Wonder League Robotics Competition challenges kids to code for Wonder Workshop's Dash and Dot robots using the Wonder app, seen in action in the video below.

The Wonder app is available for Android and iOS.

Students will need to program the robots to complete seven missions, the last of which will be revealed in mid-November. Teams should record their videos and upload them to YouTube.

Prizes for one grand prize-winning team include an all-expenses-paid field trip to California to present to Google engineers; meet artists from Illumination Entertainment (designers of Minions), meet game designers from EA and tour Universal Studios. Other prizes will be awarded to runners up.

The competition opens today. Final submissions are due Dec. 1. Finals will be held Dec. 7, and winners will be announced Dec. 10.
