  • CDC Updates Return-to-School Guidance: Let Kids Come — with Masks

    Today, the Centers for Disease Control issued new guidance for K–12 schools, calling for indoor masking and physical distancing for everybody, whether or not they've been vaccinated.

  • Deadline Looms for ITEST Grants

    The deadline for the Innovative Technology Experiences for Students and Teachers (ITEST) grant program is this Friday. The program will award a total of up to $30 million and is open to a variety of organizations, including K–12 schools and districts.

  • Educators Say 'Meh' to School LMS Choice

    According to a recent survey, while nearly nine in 10 schools have adopted a learning management system that every teacher is supposed to use, fondness for functionality is hit-and-miss. While 85% of respondents said their schools have adopted an LMS, only two-thirds (64%) reported being satisfied with the current choice.

  • New Project Hopes to Help Teachers Choose Ed Tech with True Impact

    Sorting out what education technology really works for teachers and where and why is a complex undertaking. After all, there is no master overseer in charge of tracking the details of a segment that some estimates have pegged at between $26 billion and $41 billion annually before 2020 and that could far exceed that given the impact of the pandemic. In spite of the huge investment made in the sector, some experts have suggested that about half of ed tech investment is wasted because the product or service is used ineffectively, little used or never used at all.

  • New Virtual Ed Platform Integrates with Canvas

    Virtual education platform InSpace, a new tool that allows students and instructors to interact online much like they would in physical spaces, has announced integration with Instructure's Canvas learning management system.

  • STEAM Grant Program Awarding $500 per Classroom This Month

    The AIAA Foundation is awarding grants of up to $500 per teacher for science, technology, engineering, the arts and mathematics (STEAM) education programs. The deadline for applications is at the end of the month.
