Consortium Supports Certification Standards

IBM, Lotus, Netscape, Novell and Sun Microsystems plan to form a worldwide Internet training and certification consortium, the firms announced in joint press conference.

The goal of the consortium is to create a multi-vendor global standard for training and credentials that directly correlates to jobs emanating from intranet and Internet and other networking strategies.

Members of the consortium plan to appoint a third party company to administer the Internet training and certification program, which will be rolled later in 1997.

Other partners are invited to join the consortium, which is in the early formation stages. Contact a training service representative from any of the member firms for more information.
