Lightspeed Firewall

Designed specifically for the education market, Lightspeed Firewall from Lightspeed Systems (www.eratefirewall.com) provides well-integrated, multiple levels of security to create a comprehensive firewall that is E-Rate eligible. Lightspeed Firewall begins with traditional firewall security, but its “stateful packet inspection” enables administrators to allow or deny traffic according to security policies, prevents denial-of-service attacks, and masks internal network structure. It then takes protection another step with advanced, integrated levels of security that detect and prevent intrusions (IPS), control applications on the network (e.g., it optionally blocks spyware, IM, peer-to-peer traffic, as well as controls HTTP, FTP and SMTP commands), monitor and report network and user activity, as well as resolve usernames for policy enforcement.
