Dyscalculia Screener

Tool Factory (www.toolfactory.com) has released its Dyscalculia Screener, a computer-based assessment tool to help identify children aged 6-14 with learning impairments in math. Dyscalculia, a recently discovered condition also known as number blindness, affects a student’s ability to acquire arithmetic skills such as understanding simple number concepts. Dyscalculia Screener takes about 30 minutes to administer and can distinguish between students with bad math skills and those with specific learning disabilities. The colorful, interactive program tests children’s reaction time, enumeration, number comparison and arithmetic achievement, as well as minimizes test anxiety by not telling students if they are right or wrong.
