Scantron has started shipping its iNSIGHT 30, a new desktop scanner sporting fast speeds, high-resolution, and full color imaging, as well as optical mark recognition (OMR) for accurate data collection.

The iNSIGHT 30 was designed to address a broad range of needs, from testing, surveys, grading, and attendance to managing personnel records, archival, and general back-file conversions. The scanner handles OMR forms using the company's ScanTools software, reading up to 3,600 sheets per hour. The iNSIGHT 30 also boasts scan speeds of up to 9,000 images per hour, as well as advanced paper handling, allowing multiple paper sizes and weights to be fed simultaneously.

"Scantron is committed to offering our customers scanning technologies that address their critical requirements for reliable and accurate data collection solutions," said Jeff Heggedahl, CEO and President of Scantron, in a prepared statement. "The new iNSIGHT 30 scanner offers a versatile, cost-effective way to capture, store and distribute the growing volumes of data and documents that organizations deal with every day."

According to Scantron, the iNSIGHT 30 can also perform optical character recognition, intelligent character recognition, and bar code processing, as well as grey-scale image scanning.
