Follett Debuts Destiny 9.0

Follett Software has announced a new version of its Destiny Resource Management Solution, Destiny 9.0. The new version includes enhancements to three of the four main modules in the suite, with expanded customization options and several new features.

The browser-based platform includes four modules: Destiny Library Manager, Destiny Textbook Manager, Destiny Media Manager, and Destiny Asset Manager, all of which are designed for central management of physical and digital materials.

Enhancements to the Library Manager--and its new, integrated online search interface, Destiny Quest--include improved management of user names and passwords; customization capabilities for individual user accounts; new networking and collaboration tools; and advanced search result sorting and organization.

The suite's Textbook Manager module has been updated to include consumables tracking, providing an integrated approach to maintaining textbooks, workbooks, and study guides, among other things; a simplified setup, including the ability to track items without the use of a barcode; and centralized check-out policy creation capabilities.

The Asset Manager module now boasts a wizard-based interface and pre-defined templates, designed to ease the set-up process; a streamlined navigation structure, speeding up the search process; and a new option to create packing slips, specifically for asset transfers.

Further information about the new version can be found on Follett's site here.
