Polycom has introduced a new solution that enables interactive whiteboard functionality without a board and streams annotated lessons or presentations to students or colleagues connected to video conferencing systems.

The new UC Board consists of a stylus and a sensor, both of them technologies based on Luidia's eBeam system, that work in conjunction with a projector or monitor to enable annotations over displayed images. The sensor has the ability to detect the movements of the stylus on surfaces that include monitors screens, whiteboards, and walls.

When the solution is connected to any of Polycom's HDX Series Telepresence systems, annotated lessons and presentations can be streamed to monitors or tablets linked with H.239 standards based video conferencing solutions.

An onscreen menu and automatic start function allow presentations to be started and controlled using the solutions stylus.

Additional features include:

  • A maximum active work area of 108" x 60";
  • A minimum work area of 11" x 17"; and
  • USB power.

The UC Board is covered by a one-year warranty and currently ships for $1,999.
