Accelerated Math Live Adds Online Scoring, New Content

Renaissance Learning has unveiled an update to its personalized math program, Accelerated Math. The new program, dubbed Accelerated Math Live, will be available for the 2013-2014 school year.

Aligned to the Common Core State Standards and featuring custom content for state standards such as the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) test, the newest version includes new content libraries for all grade levels.

The new version also adds an online program that scores students' work instantly, in an effort to help teachers "monitor progress and guide instruction more quickly," according to a news release about the update.

Other features of Accelerated Math Live include:

  • The ability for students to work on a desktop, laptop, tablet, or with pencil and paper;
  • Tools for differentiating instruction and making data-driven decisions;
  • Immediate feedback for students, whether they're working in class or at home;
  • Online support for students, such as completed examples and a math glossary; and
  • A teacher dashboard, with information viewable by school, grade level, or subgroup.

"Teachers will have more options to teach in an interactive, engaging classroom environment--peer-assisted learning, think-alouds, small group discussions, one-on-one instruction--even a flipped classroom," said Renaissance Learning CEO Jack Lynch, in a prepared statement. "With Accelerated Math Live, teachers can easily tailor their instruction to the personal needs of each student."
