Security Companies Combine Security Officer with Video Surveillance in School Offering

Two companies that specialize in security have teamed up to provide a school-specific offering that combines on-site in-person security with video surveillance. CPS Security and eCamSecure are marketing a hybrid school security package that combines a CPS-trained security officer and a mobile surveillance unit from eCamSecure, which is linked to CPS' command center and can be viewed by authorized users within the school or district.

The mobile unit can record locally and remotely and can be augmented with motion detection cameras, license plate recognition, and pan/tilt/zoom cameras. The unit includes a disaster plan that archives backups to a central location.

CPS' security officers are trained in injury prevention and handling protocols, chain of command procedures, patrolling, observing, report writing, and customer service.

The combined offering includes help desk tech support, maintenance, software upgrades, and notification of camera failure, as well as consulting on camera placement.
