PBS LearningMedia Adds Free Learning Resources

PBS LearningMedia has launched new free resources designed to help preK-12 teachers address curriculum gaps.

Bringing the organization's digital educational resource total to more than 30,000, the new material includes "interactive games, videos, and lesson plans from PBS and PBS Kids programs," according to a PBS LearningMedia news release.

New resources include:

• Constitution USA, featuring videos, images, lesson plans, and interactive activities designed to help students explore the United States Constitution;
• Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood, with videos designed to help early learners develop social and emotional skills;
• Makers: Women Who Make America, with videos and lesson plans designed to showcase the contributions of American women;
• Shakespeare Uncovered, featuring videos, text, discussion questions, and activity suggestions designed to help students in grades 8-12 appreciate the work of Shakespeare;
• Online leassons for blended learning, featuring "cross-curricular lessons that enhance the literacy skills of struggling readers and writers in grades 5-8," according to information released by the organization; and
• Digital learning objects designed to make math concepts more fun and relatable.

"These new resources will help educators engage and empower students with different learning styles by leveraging the power of digital media," said Alicia Levi, managing director of PBS LearningMedia, in a prepared statement. "Through PBS LearningMedia, we are providing accessible, flexible, and high-quality educational content that brings students face-to-face with the subjects they are studying, ultimately inspiring learning and driving achievement."
