New Splashtop Classroom App Streams Content to Student Devices

At FETC today, Splashtop announced Splashtop Classroom, a new app that allows teachers to stream content and applications to students' computers, iPads and Chromebooks.

Students access the app by scanning a QR code or entering a session code. Once connected, the teacher can share class content (including multimedia) across all devices in real time, or pass control to any student. There is no need to reformat or pre-load content for mobile devices.

By connecting to the class PC or Mac from their mobile device, instructors can teach from anywhere in the classroom. Splashtop Classroom includes both Splashtop remote desktop and whiteboard tools, enabling teachers to control their favorite apps, files and data via their mobile devices, as well as use their iPad or Android tablet as a mobile interactive whiteboard. A whiteboard toolbar allows users to draw, highlight or write over any content, or overlay a spotlight and screen shade to keep students focused.

An administrator console allows IT to centrally manage users and devices.

Splashtop is exhibiting at FETC in Booth 1004.
