InFocus Intros Smartphone-Sized PC

Kangaroo Mobile Desktop Pro

InFocus Kangaroo Pro

InFocus today introduced a new ultra-portable PC that can connect to an iPad, iPhone, PC monitor, display or projector. The Kangaroo Mobile Desktop Pro measures just 6.7 x 3.4 x 1.3 inches and weighs under a pound. It runs on Windows 10 and sports VGA, HDMI and Ethernet connectivity, as well as one USB 3.0 port, two USB 2.0 ports, a 2.5-inch hard drive bay (with 1 and 2 terabyte storage options) and an audio port.

"With a mouse, keyboard and any screen — even an iPad — Kangaroo Pro becomes a fully-functioning Windows 10 desktop PC," according to the company. The device's VGA connection allows it to be used with a monitor, projector or digital whiteboard for uncompressed media files, Microsoft Office desktop programs or other presentation tools. A built-in fingerprint reader uses the Windows Hello function for individual login access and device security.

iPhone functionality for the Kangaroo Pro is provided via an app, OSLinx, that allows users to interact with the Kangaroo via the touch interface of iPhones (4s, 5/5s, 6/6s, and 6 Plus/6s Plus) running iOS 8 and above. OSLinx for iPhone is available on the Apple app store for $4.99. A free iPad version of the app supports screen resolutions of 1,025 x 768 and 1,400 x 1,050 (iPad Pro).

The Kangaroo Pro is priced at $199.99. For more information, go to the InFocus site.
