EnGenius Launches New Outdoor Access Point

EnGenius Technologies, a provider of networking and telecommunications equipment, has unveiled a new 802.11ac Wave 2 dual band AC1300 outdoor wireless access point, the ENS620EXT at this week's InfoComm 2016 conference taking place in Las Vegas.

The ENS620EXT uses the latest wireless networking standard, 802.11ac Wave 2, which features multi-user multiple input, multiple output (MU-MIMO) technology to support greater densities of users and devices. Its dual band AC1300 capabilities support speeds up to 400 Mbps on the 2.4 GHz band and up to 867 Mbps on the 5 GHz band. An IP55-rated weatherproof and dustproof enclosure protects it from prolonged exposure to sunlight, extreme cold, rain, heat and humidity.

Other key features of the ENS620EXT include:

  • Beamforming technology, which optimizes antenna signals and reception in crowded environments to focus the signal directly to client devices;
  • Two gigabit Ethernet (GigE) ports with link aggregation support to provide a maximum bandwidth capacity of two Gbps for bandwidth-heavy applications, such as video, voice and surveillance;
  • Gigabit power-over-Ethernet (PoE) port for installation in locations with limited access to power outlets;
  • Four detachable, omni-directional, 5 dBi, MU-MIMO, SMA-type antennas and 27 dBm output power to provide 360-degree outdoor coverage.

The ENS620EXT wireless access point will be available beginning in July 2016 with an suggested retail price of $229.00 in North America. Further information about the ENS620EXT can be found on EnGenius Technologies' site.

EnGenius Technologies is exhibiting at the InfoComm show in booth C9339.
