Smart To Ship Interactive Projector This Spring

Smart Technologies has unveiled the LightRaise 40wi interactive projector, which lets instructors present interactive lessons on any surface, including whiteboards.

The LightRaise projector, which includes Smart Notebook collaborative learning software, comes with an interactive, rechargeable pen that allows teachers and students to engage with presentations on any space by writing over materials.

Additional features of the 40wi interactive projector include:

  • A 0.30:1 throw ratio, which cuts down on shadows and glare;
  • Screen sizes from 77 to 100 inches diagonal;
  • Microphone input and 10-watt speaker; and HDMI, two VGA, and network connection inputs; and
  • USB and VGA cables.

The projector, which comes with a wall mount, works with Smart Response interactive response system, Smart Slate, and Smart Document Camera, along with other Smart accessories.

Schools that purchase the LightRaise projector will have access to the Smart Exchange Web site, which provides more than 50,000 classroom resources, including standards-aligned lessons from educational publishers. Exchange also allows teachers to connect with their peers through discussion boards and share their own materials.

In addition, the projector comes with a three-year warranty program, Smart Projector Care Plus.

The cost of the LightRaise 40wi interactive projector, which comes with one Smart Notebook software license, is $1,699. The system will be available worldwide in the spring.

In related news, Smart Technologies recently released a new version of Smart Notebook software.

New features in Version 11 include the ability to: embed Web browsers into Smart Notebook software pages; create animation or sound reaction to objects; choose tools when selecting objects; resize images; record audio to a file; return Smart Notebook software to its most previously saved state; generate crayon drawings on a whiteboard; interact with, scale, and move tables easier; enhance text formatting; and show page layout borders.
