PALS Marketplace Intros Assessment Tool for iPads

PALS Marketplace has launched a new tool that uploads phonological awareness literacy screening (PALS) data to the company's Online Score Entry and Reporting System while students take assessments on iPads.

Dubbed the Mobile Assessment Wizard, the tool "mirrors the current PALS Online Assessment Wizard in functionality and ease of use," according to a news release. "Data collected via the app is synced with the existing PALS Online System. Teachers will have access to immediate data that will inform and support instruction and curriculum planning."

"Our users have wanted a mobile application for PALS assessment score entry for some time," said Justin Beck, director of mobile for PALS Marketplace parent company CaseNEX, in a prepared statement. "Although our Web site works well in Mobile Safari, a native solution provides a portable and quick way to enter scores. We have extensive plans to continue our push into the mobile space to bring more tools to teachers and students in the classroom over the next few years, so that teachers can focus on instruction, assessment and ultimately, the students' development."
