Stoneware Updates LanSchool To Improve Communication, Accessibility
Stoneware has launched a new version of LanSchool, its classroom management software, in an effort to improve monitoring, collaboration and communication.
The new version includes an upgrade to the Chromebook extension that adds features such as View Student, Show Student, Save Snapshot and
Chat for use with the devices.
The new version also refreshes the LanSchool Connection Service (LCS) to support up to 10,000 connections, automatically direct teachers
and students to the appropriate LCS and to automatically update the teacher agent.
Other features new to this version include:
- Multi-select capability for tablets running Windows 8 and an improved ability to handle disconnects when devices go to sleep;
- The ability to configure the software to require student permission for teachers to see student screens;
- A more obvious notice for the "ask a teacher" feature, including a pop-up window with student questions arranged by date and time;
- A new 64-bit iOS app;
- New tutorials; and
- Accessibility improvements for students with disabilities.
