Wireless Products: Intellisync: goAnywhere

Intellisync: goAnywhere from Pumatech Inc. (www.pumatech.com) allows users of Web-enabled devices (e.g., laptops, mobile phones or PDAs) to remotely access Microsoft Outlook information and files that reside on their desktop computer, including e-mail, contacts, tasks, calendars and documents. Users install the software on their host computer, which connects to Pumatech's Intellisync: goAnywhere server. The server provides a Web-based interface for information on the host PC, creating an experience similar to that of common PIM applications. When users want remote access to PIM information or specific PC files, they simply log on to the server from any Web-enabled device. Intellisync: goAnywhere lets users stay productive while on the go, with the ability to respond to e-mail using a Palm OS- or Pocket PC-compatible PDA, access work documents from a home computer, or one-touch dial any Outlook-based contact from a cell phone - without the need for synchronization. In addition, the software provides secure remote access with 128-bit end-to-end encryption, which d'esn't expose any open ports on a user's PC and d'esn't store information anywhere on Pumatech's servers.
