Discovery Launches Media Management for Schools

Discovery Education is launching a new media management service for educators and school administrators. Dubbed MediaShare, the service, being shown off for the first time this week at the FETC conference in Orlando, FL, allows schools to upload, manage, and distribute licensed or user-generated content through a Web interface.

In addition to providing basic media management functionality, MediaShare also includes features for collaboration between teachers and students, teachers and parents, etc. Media can be uploaded to local or hosted servers, and access can be controlled by admins through sharing permissions.

Some of MediaShare's other features include:

  • Support for all types of digital content, including audio, video, documents, and presentations;
  • The ability to map content to state curriculum standards; and
  • Support for indexing and searching content based on user-defined criteria.

Discovery Education is in booth 108 at the FETC conference. More information can be found at the links below.
