Dig-It! Games Debuts New Roman Town Game for Middle School Students

Dig-It! Games has released a new version of its free history app for iOS devices, Roman Town.

The social studies-based problem-solving game encourages students to explore Roman culture through mini games, clue discovery, conversation with characters and exploration of ruins and artifacts in the archaeological site of Pompeii.

Designed for students aged 10-15, features of the game include:

  • Detailed historical information;
  • An active story designed to encourage immersive learning; and
  • 11 mini games, including some based on games played by Romans.

"History is not about fact-memorization and dates; it's about the culture and learning how people lived in the ancient world," said Suzi Wilczynski, president and founder of Dig-It! Games, in a prepared statement. "Roman Town is a part of our goal to make history come alive for students, and with its basis in accurate and detailed information, the game allows for players to become immersed in the culture while being entertained."
