Kentucky DOE Taps BI Firm for NCLB Compliance

The Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) has awarded a contract to Claraview Inc., a business intelligence consultancy based in Reston, VA. According to the terms of the deal, Claraview will supply BI services to help improve student learning and help KDE in its efforts to comply with NCLB.
Claraview will provide services for the Kentucky Instructional Data System (KIDS) statewide longitudinal data system. According to the company, "The program will drive educational improvements, higher standards, and greater accountability for school systems across the Commonwealth. Claraview will leverage its extensive best practices and exclusive focus in data warehousing and business intelligence and apply it for educational purposes to enhance student education and compliance with the No Child Left Behind Act"
Claraview's data warehousing will be used by KDE to manage and analyze student data; to comply with NCLB reporting requirements; to supply data access for teachers and administrators through a Web-based portal; and to allow educators to collaborate and share knowledge through the portal.
"The ultimate goal is to utilize this data to improve teaching methods, interventions, and school programs to increase the students' overall educational experience," according to Claraview.
