Ed tech developer Age of Learning has launched a new online education portal designed for the youngest students. The site, ABCmouse.com Early Learning Academy, brings a full online curriculum to preschoolers and kindergarten students for use in schools and at home.
PBS Newshour is expanding a mentoring program it began last year to connect students with news professionals in public broadcasting, a program that's tied in with the students' schools through a curriculum focusing on media literacy and digital media production.
According to John Kuglin, cloud computing could serve as the strategic component that has been missing in K-12 technology efforts--a way to deliver more and better services. The technology may answer the question that educators tend to ask after computers are purchased and 1:1 initiatives implemented: "Now what?"

Ed tech developer TenMarks has made its online teaching and learning resource free for K-12 schools and educators.
Hoping to motivate middle and high school students to undertake projects focused on water and its part in the environmental concerns of their own communities, environmental education nonprofit EarthEcho International (EEI) has partnered with Discovery Education to launch Water Planet Challenge, a Web site offering the interactive tools and access to resources necessary to design and implement such projects.

Texas Instruments has beefed up the resources it offers on its TI Math Nspired site,
Elementary teachers are using wikis in and out of the classroom. The collaborative, teacher-moderated technology allows educators to set up sites quickly and at little or no cost, creating instant learning resources for students. But wikis aren't without their challenges.
