Scanton’s Clarity 120

SCANTRON has released Clarity 120, a hybrid data-collection scanner that captures mark-sense data and document images in a single pass. The unit is available in an image-only model or bundled with Scantron Intelligent Mark Recognition (SIMR) technology. The critical throughput issue—how fast pages can be scanned without misfeeds or errors—is addressed by combining high-speed (7,200 images per hour), direct-path, duplex image capture with enhanced image de-skew, noise reduction, and timing track regeneration. Sophisticated error-correction algorithms fix common mark-sense errors, including misidentification of check marks, X’s, erasures, and bubbles. Price: $2,495; www.scantron.com.
