Glip Makes 'Conversation Platform' Free for Schools

Glip has made its conversation platform free for students and educators to use.

Glip is designed to allow teams of varying sizes "to connect through text and video group chat, share documents, assign and manage tasks, keep shared calendars, and access all of it in seconds through universal search," according to a news release.

"Our team is constantly connected and Glip helps us keep all of our communications in one place — be it a quick comment, longer note or group meeting," said Queen's University MBA student Caleb Scalf, in a prepared statement. "For any scheduled meeting we always do a Glip video chat. At the student level, having a tool like Glip helps us work interactively regardless of locations so we no longer have to meet at the library and can keep the dialogue always going which enhances our projects."

"With distance learning programs, online courses, and teamwork projects on the rise, educators and students alike are looking for technologies to help facilitate hassle-free collaboration," said Peter Pezaris, founder and chief executive officer at Glip, in a news release. "Glip offers a single platform that brings together classes, project and study groups, and special program groups to enrich the shared learning environment — regardless of location."

Students and educators can sign up for free with their .edu email address. Schools that do not use the .edu domain can contact the company at for a free registration code.
