Contest Highlights Endangered Species

Students from preschool through grade 12 can learn about the world's endangered species by entering the national Endangered Species Poster Contest sponsored by Target Stores, the National Wildlife Federation and the Environmental Information Center.

The contest is open to all youth and prizes will be awarded in five grade categories: pre K-1, 2-3, 4-6, 7-9 and 10-12. The winning artwork will be displayed at the White House Office of Environmental Policy and will be available to tour science and children's museums.

Posters can feature one or more endangered species, or tackle the general issue of endangered species. Entries will be judged by a team of celebrities, education specialists and politicians, based on creativity and accuracy of content.

Contest details and rules can be found in the Spring issue of EarthSavers, an environmental newsletter from Target Stores, or online: www.lgc.apc.org.eic. The entry deadline is May 10, 1996. Environmental Information Center, Washington, DC, (908) 544-5928.
