Create Multimedia Student Portfolios

Perfect for utilizing Kodak's PhotoCD technology, Scholastic's Electronic Portfolio gives teachers, parents and students an easy way to build and view a complete multimedia sampling of students' work and progress.

Users can utilize the program's built-in multimedia processor or import writing and graphics from other Mac programs, scan in artwork and photographs, and add sound and video of student speeches, plays and presentations.

The software helps structure portfolios to demonstrate progress or showcase best pieces, and allows organization by subject, theme or project. An extensive Help system offers guidance by topic or an index.

Scholastic's Electronic Portfolio supports a variety of teaching and assessment philosophies. Teachers can link national standards, district frameworks, scoring rubrics and individual lesson plans to student work. Educators are also allowed to make one free copy of the program for use at home.

The package includes the CD-ROM with sample portfolios of actual student work for every grade level (pre-K to 12), a Teacher's Guide with a full tutorial and step-by-step instructions, and more. A free 30-day preview is offered. Scholastic, Inc., Jefferson City, MO, (800) 541-5513. M
