Apple Offers "Cool Tools for School"

Debuting this fall as part of Apple's Bring Learning Home initiative, the "Cool Cash Back + Cool Tools for School" promotion allows families to get a rebate by purchasing a select Macintosh Performa computer and Apple printer, while their school earns valuable Apple products. After purchasing the qualifying products from their local reseller, parents or students simply mail a rebate coupon (and proof of purchase) to Apple. Their school is automatically registered in the Apple School Rewards Program, through which points are earned toward products such as QuickTake digital cameras, color scanners, color printers, AppleDesign Powered Speakers, CD-ROM drives, PowerBook computers and Newton MessagePads. Families will receive regular reports showing the points their school has earned. Apple recently mailed kits to schools containing a program overview, poster, flyers for parents and other materials. To request a kit, call (800) 262-0329. In related news, schools are invited to host Family Computing Workshops, designed to help educate parents and community members about the benefits of technology, garner support for plans and increase involvement. To order a workshop kit with full details, call (800) 365-7080, ext. 600. Hosting a workshop and returning requested materials by Dec. 13, 1996, automatically qualifies schools to win selected Macintosh products.
