Internet Guide Uses Real-Life Examples

An Internet guide for K-12 educators, NetLearning: Why Teachers Use the Internet includes real stories from teachers showing how online resources support learning. The book explains how pioneering educators managed to get their classrooms wired despite lack of funds, limited technical knowledge or skeptical administrators. It also describes how the Internet serves as a valuable research and professional development tool. Recommended by PBS, NetLearning looks at several options for connecting to the Internet. The 292-page book was written by Ferdi Serim, a middle school teacher and founder of the Online Internet Institute, and Melissa Koch, developer of the Global Network Navigator (GNN) Education Center. A companion CD-ROM includes Internet utilities and software for GNN Internet service. The publisher has posted an excerpt of NetLearning at http://www.ora.com/info/ netlearn.
