CD Includes Resources for Writing Teachers

Teaching in Process is a CD-ROM containing resource materials for writing teachers. It includes training exercises, a library of sample course outlines, handouts, assignments and an annotated bibliography. Developed in collaboration with the University of Massachusetts (Amherst) Writing Program, the CD includes audio and video interviews with teachers and students, classroom and training videos and other supporting materials. The program can be used in a variety of ways -- from training new English and writing teachers, to being a source of classroom materials that can be refocused for specific classes. It provides guidance, teaching models and sample curriculum for almost any facet of the writing process, from setting course goals to peer activities to assessment. Teaching in Process is also useful for experienced writing teachers who are ready to examine new and different approaches to teaching. All handouts and assignments included may be annotated by the user, printed out and used in class. Sixth Floor Media, Boston, MA, (800) 565-6247, www.sixthfloor.com.
